Keep curls fresh throughout the day. If you notice your curls starting to fall or frizz, wet your hair a bit and apply whatever product you like to use (be it curl cream, gel, mousse, or another product). Scrunch your hair up a bit to make your curls look as fresh as they did in the morning.
Glossy Curls
1Wash your hair and use anti-frizz serum. Wash your hair in cold water with natural shampoo and conditioner. Gently squeeze out the excess moisture and pat it dry with a soft towel. Place some anti-frizz or moisturizing serum on your hands and smooth it through your hair from the roots to the tips.
2Blow your hair dry with a diffuser. The diffuser attachment spread out the heat so that it doesn't flow in a direct stream on one part of your hair. Work your way around your head with the diffuser, using its prongs to lift and dry your curls around the scalp, down the back and sides, and down to the tips. When you're drying the ends of your hair position the diffuser upside down underneath the hair and gently push your curls up to add volume. Continue until your hair is slightly moist, rather than completely dry
Using a hotter setting on your dryer will result in shinier curls.
If you'd rather have waves instead of tight curls, don't push your curls up with the diffuser; point it straight at them instead.
3Use a curling iron to help define the curls. If there are spots where the curls look a little loose or unkempt, use a large-barreled curling iron to make them look more curly.
4Add a curl defining product. Use more anti-frizz serum or specific product for defining curls to give your hair some gloss. Run the product through your hair with your fingers, being careful not to separate the curls too much.
5Finish with a touch of hairspray. Use a medium-hold spray to keep your look in place throughout the day.
Special Occasion Updos
1Wear a low bun. Loosely gather your hair at the nape of your neck and grasp it there between your thumb and forefinger. Twist the hair several times and then form it into a bun shape. Fasten it in place using an elastic band.
Don't gather your hair too tightly; do it loosely, so your curls and waves are visible.
Loosen a few curls at either temple to add romantic flair to the low bun look.
2Wear a curly pompador. Gather your hair at the top of your head, using a comb or brush to smooth the sides and back. Fasten it in place using an elastic band. Bring the ponytail forward and tuck the ends under, then use a few hairpins to keep your curls in place. Pin some strands around the ponytail elastic to hide it from few
3Wear your hair half up. Gather strands of hair from the sides of your face to the back of your head, leaving the strands beneath loose and free. Use a hair clip, an elastic band, or a barrette to keep the two sides in place at the back of your head. Hold the fastener with one hand and use the other to loosen the hair at the top of your head a bit to add volume.
